Team Lava!

Alex finally got to start Soccer at the end of August, he has been SO excited.

For his first year he's been doing really fantastic, gets right in there and goes for it.

His team uniform is very bright orange so they came up with the name Team Lava.

His team's coach Suzanne is really great and has amazing patience. (Eight 6yo boys don't have the best attention span.) Since practice is on Tuesdays which is my day off i've been able to help her out with coaching, which is very new to me but we've been learning a lot along the way and having a lot of fun with these boys.

Go Warriors!

Braxton started his 2nd year of football in July. He is very dedicated and absolutely loves playing.

Braxton's team has been absolutely amazing this year.
They are undefeated and have played their hardest.
We couldn't be more proud.

Pismo Beach 2013

We made one more big trip during the summer...Pismo Beach, CA!
Ken's family goes every summer and we were able to go this year (it's been a couple years since we last went.) We had the trip planned out for a few months in advance but Ken's work threw a monkey wrench in our plans and held him over so Ken wasn't able to make it. I almost decided we not go at all if Ken wasn't going to be with us, but the boys were so excited I couldn't say no. We packed up and made the 13 hour drive (we stayed overnight outside of Vegas both ways to break up the trip.) In the end i'm so glad we went, even though we all missed Ken tons we did have a great trip.

Jessie and boys walking on the beach VERY early in the morning to hunt for sand dollars...they found a TON!

When we were walking back this line of marathon runners passed us. I was so envious...how amazing is that?

Temps there aren't too high, low 70s but it was very enjoyable and we made it down to the beach almost every day.

There is this cute little farm not far from where we were camping. The kids are able to feed the animals, go for a little wagon ride, pick peaches, and they have the most fabulous ice cream too!

Look how adorable Alex is helping his Grandma walk down to the beach

Pismo Beach is a Hammond tradition for MANY years and I am so blessed to be able to enjoy the tradition with the family. It is a truly beautiful place.
